What This Information Means

The results describe the public network endpoint presented when your browser accesses this site. This is not the device's private address on the local network.

Public IP

The public address visible to websites

Your public IP is the address used when the current request leaves your local network. Checking it before and after connecting lets you see whether the public endpoint has changed. If the result does not update, verify the client connection, then refresh the page and run the check again.

Country / Region

Network location inferred from the address database

The country or region comes from IP address registration data and is commonly used to indicate the access area seen by online services. It reflects the registered or identified location of the network endpoint, not the device's precise geographic position, and should not be treated as a location result.

ISP

The network organization responsible for the address range

The ISP field identifies the network provider or autonomous network organization associated with the public address. Different routes may show a data center, backbone network, or access provider. Use this field as an additional clue when assessing the endpoint type and routing ownership.

Proxy Status

An auxiliary assessment based on address characteristics

The proxy status is returned by this site's GeoIP API and should be treated only as a network-diagnostics clue. Database updates, shared endpoints, and enterprise network structures can affect the result, so it should not be used alone to determine whether a connection is working properly.

DNS check

DNS Leak Self-Check

A changed IP only shows that web requests are using a new public endpoint. Whether DNS requests follow the expected route must be checked separately in your system and browser settings.

Compare Before and After Connecting

  • Record the environment before connecting. Check the network and DNS settings currently used by your system, and note the provider and resolution method.
  • Open the browser again after connecting. Visit this page once more and confirm that the public IP and country or region match the selected route.
  • Check the system DNS settings. If the system is still fixed to the DNS addresses provided by the original network, switch to the automatic configuration recommended by the client and reconnect.
  • Check the browser's secure DNS. A browser may choose its own DNS service independently of the system. During troubleshooting, confirm whether this feature overrides the client's configuration.
  • Review each item when results differ. Disconnect and reconnect the route first, then close old tabs and related background processes before checking the public endpoint again.
